Contemporary Portrait

Project 2

Create a contemporary portrait using, Flash or Illustrator drawing tools, then prepare and proof the image for high quality printed output.

The Following books are available in the Kendall library under reference:

Facial Expressions Babies to Teens: A Visual Reference for Artists by Mark Simon

The right side cabinet in rm. 707 has many professional and student examples of Contemporary Portraits printed and removed form magazines or other advertising.

Create a reference image:

Poser > some students may choose to use Poser which is installed on the desktops in the labs to create lighting and camera view 
Ideas on how to use Poser 


Camera > We have a digital camera available for use from the Digital Media Office.

Stock Imagery > Weblab

Executing Image:
Some possible methods:
Flash Rendering or flat shapes

Illustrator Pen Tool or Live tracing or frisket shapes that are filled with gradients
